Yesterday Barry and Sam represented ME4 Writers at a writers’ workshop in London at the Utopian arts festival, an independent festival based at a space called Mapalim in Kentish Town.
The event took the format of readings and some group activities, and we got to hear some interesting new work.
The festival runs from 10-22 July, so check out their website to find out what activities they are running. On Saturday they have a programme of speakers and possibly also some readers.
Four of ME4 Writers submitted works on the theme of utopia – Sam Hall’s Kaleidoscope – a futuristic sci-fi nightmare which will also appear in the next issue of Encyclopaedia Citaecephale – Barry Fentiman’s Jerusalem rebooted, an updating of a familiar work, a new poem by Gemma Quinnell and a short story by Clive Radford.
You can download a magazine of the writings here: Utopia magazine.
